Tribes are a great way of staying connected with your group and keeping everyone motivated. The more everyone puts in, the more they get out, so it's good to set a positive tone and help get your members settled in. Here are some tips to get the ball rolling.
Personalize your profile
New members want to know they're in the right place, so if you've still got a default profile image, they might not be sure it's you. Here's how to change your profile image.
Personalize your Tribe
By default your tribe has a standard photo and your profile picture as the icon. You can change both of these to images that help people feel more at home.
Get chatty
Use the Tribe chat to welcome people when they join, and see how they're getting along. If you invite them to be a friend in Racefully and they accept, you can also chat 1:1 with them on their profile page. It's a good idea to remind people to check they've allowed notifications from Racefully so they don't miss out on the conversation. If they want a break, they can use the bell icon at the top of the chat screen to pause for up to 24 hours.
Set a challenge
It's a good idea to set an easy challenge to get your members started. Some Tribes choose a Freestyle challenge for everyone to update their profile image. Others start with a do-one-activity challenge with Racefully (or syncing it from another app via Strava).
Put a welcome message in the news feed
The news feed is like the bulletin board for your Tribe. Only Tribe owners can post messages there. Use it to welcome people in, talk about your plans for the tribe, and link to other resources.
Encourage people to share their activities with the Tribe
Any activity in Racefully can be shared with the Tribe chat, and from there people can view details, give ♥️ and comment on the activity, and even walk, run, cycle, ski or snowboard with the activity.
